1st XI Player of the Year
A very impressive season for Munro including scoring 542 runs at an average of 46.24 for the 1s to also win the awards for most runs and best batting average. Those runs included a first century of 130 against Mearns (after being out on 99 two weeks before against Greenock) and also followed that with 102 versus Langside.

1st XI Bowling
Callum topped the wicket takers with 24 wickets and also claimed the Jimmy Steele Bowling award with 5 for 15 at Hillhead. Tommy finished with the side’s best best bowling average with 19 wickets at 12.05 runs per wicket.

2nd XI Player of the Year
Another impactful season by a junior with Cory scoring 540 runs and taking 18 wickets for the 2nds. That also made him the 2nds top run scorer. That included his first century with an innings of 107 against Greenock 2nds here at Nunholm.

2nd XI Batting
Skipper Drew knows his batting average off by heart, and why not, with the team’s best batting average of 75.33 whilst scoring 452 runs.

2nd XI Bowling
Ross topped the wicket takes for the 2nds by taking 30 wickets. And not bad for a thirteen year old, Dashiel had the best bowling average of 13.8 runs per wicket in taking his 11 wickets from a combination of seam and leg-spin bowling.

Sunday XI Batting
Cory featured again as the top run scorer with 204 runs. And all-rounder Dashiel switched disciplines to have the best Sunday batting average of 99 which included a not out match winning fifty in a last-wicket partnership with Sultan.

Sunday XI Bowling
Lachlan was on target to take the most wickets (6) for the Sunday side and at the best average (14.5).

Women’s Player of the Year
Well deserved by Macey who has displayed a lot of resolve in having to travel to play for Watsonian Women in the Scottish Premier league and the Scottish Cup and for Western Warriors and Scotland Emerging Girls in representative matches. Another learning year for her, including learning she had taken a hat-trick after she had initiated the Watsonian Cup Quarter-final comeback win (a last ball wicket followed by 2 in 2 in the next over).

“Youth Player of the Year
Sometimes it is easy to choose a player of the season due to a lack of competition. This year must have been easy but certainly not for that reason. Several other players can be very pleased with how their summer went.

But it was Cory who stood out. I think most of us were expecting good things but his progress was phenomenal – in all three disciplines – and the numbers bear it out.

He was leading run scorer for the Nunholm XI with 540, including a century, which put him in second place in the whole league.

And his third place in the bowling stats with 18 wickets must make him the league’s number one all-rounder for the 2026 season.

Cory’s efforts and ability were rewarded with selection for the Western Warriors u-15s and the Scotland u-16 team and he made his debut for the first eleven where he didn’t look out of place - his three run-outs against Prestwick was certainly one of my season’s highlights and did not deserve to be on a losing side.

And if that was not enough he suggested leadership qualities by captaining the u15s, u16s and Sunday eleven.”
