On Saturday 4 May 2019 - DCC will donate 10p per run scored by all our teams, the 1st and 2nd teams, in their Saturday league matches.

We are encouraging members and supporters to also support by sponsoring at 1p per run, or more, or just by making a donation to the Club.

The powerful reason for the Scottish cricket community to support The Brain Tumour Charity is detailed below.

You can contact the club to sign up to sponsor our #Boundaries4BrainTumours aim and contribute some funds to help The Brain Tumour Charity of which more information can be found here - www.thebraintumourcharity.org

You can email us on dumfriescricketclub@gmail.com or speak to any committee member at the ground.

We know Con as a regional team-mate for some of us and as a Clydesdale opposition player against the 1sts and as a visitor to come and play at Nunholm.

In particular his controlled six hitting towards the Nunholm clubhouse, and the car park, for the Cricket Scotland Reivers against the Highlanders in 2014 in the North Sea Pro Series got everyone’s attention, including that of one unfortunate car owner with whom some awkward local negotiations were required regarding a rear window.

"Our goal is to raise £3,500 which could fund two weeks of research for one of the Brain Tumour Charity’s leading brain tumour researchers to improve understanding and provide more targeted treatments.

In 2018, news of Scotland all-rounder Con de Lange’s brain tumour was made public. Since then, the community has rallied in support to raise vital funds for the Brain Tumour Charity.

The Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain tumours, making a difference every day to the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families. It funds pioneering research to increase survival, raises awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours and provides support for everyone affected."
