Congratulations to the Club's Rosy Ryan who has been awarded the Scottish Women In Sport Award for Role Model of 2018.

Rosy was awarded the 2018 Role Model Award at the Scottish Women In Sport Awards ceremony in Glasgow in November.

Rosy is the West Region Women and Girls`Development Officer for Cricket Scotland and as they put it -

"This is an amazing achievement for Rosy who has worked for Cricket Scotland for two years. Rosy is a passionate and talented cricketer and footballer herself but her main talent is in enthusing young girls and women to play sport. Her dedication and energy are infectious and the immediate connection she forges with youngsters during introductory sessions is clear for all to see."

and if you have ached just a little the day after a fun-filled CricHIIT exercise session.

"she has developed, in partnership with the strength and conditioning coaches and with other members of her team, a brand-new concept in cricket. The new high intensity interval training product called “CricHIIT” took over a year to perfect and is now being used in many clubs throughout the country to encourage girls and women to engage with cricket to keep fit, socialise and develop new skills."

The Cricket Scotland article on her award can be found here -

We at Nunholm can remember her first appearance at the Club when she came over to the nets to have a go at Women's Cricket for the first time some seven years ago.

Now a Level 2 coach she has played for Scotland U17s and, if you ask, she might be persuaded to tell you she has an infinite batting average for Scotland.

We concur with the Cricket Scotland appreciation above. Congratulations, well deserved Rosy.
