The Sports Club membership year runs from the 1st March each year.

Coaching/Training
The club runs regular coaching and training sessions for different age groups, weekly during the cricket season and also outwith the summer months.

Matches
We run U11, U13, U15 sides with matches in the junior leagues and cups in Cumbria. (Monday evenings U15s, Friday evening U13s, Sunday mornings U11s). The U11s start with some soft ball games and progress to hard ball games as for the older age groups.

There are also some U18s games and we effectively put out youth sides in the local evening Midweek League (Wednesdays and Thursdays) with the younger ones for Dumfries Colts and the older ones for James Hallam Youth.

Our Sunday XI is a development side for the older juniors and they play similar such development sides in the Cumbria Eden Valley Sunday League. Youth players can then progress to 2nd XI and to 1st XI league cricket on Saturdays.

A junior needs to be a member to play in such matches.

No training session fees
We aim to cover our costs for the training sessions with a one-off payment for the year.

However there can be winter indoor fees which go towards hall hire. We try to keep these to a minimum and often subsidise the cost of a hiring a hall.

Match fees – we usually also ask for a small junior match fee of a couple of pounds from participants.

Dumfries Sports Club Membership
The cricket club membership includes membership of Dumfries Sports Club. So the junior player has access to the opportunities that the club as a whole offers.

The junior also becomes a member of Dumfries Tennis Club and Dumfries Squash and Racketball Club and can join in with their junior programmes, and of course can access the Sports Club facilities when they wish and hence play tennis, racketball, squash, use the table tennis table, etc.

You can spend the summer holidays at Nunholm.

The Sports Club membership year runs from the 1st March each year.
