"Mac was a long standing member of the Sports Club who sadly passed away at the end of last year. He was an avid squash player and excellent cricketer during his 50 plus years association with the Club and was a respected and popular member and was also a past Chairman. His wife Julie, daughter Amanda and son Mark wished for Mac to be remembered in some way at the Club and kindly presented the Club with a memorial seat which is placed between the two cherry trees overlooking the cricket ground. The inscription includes the wording “He loved this place”, fitting words for a very special person."
