Current guidelines for playing internal club training games at Nunholm.
Read the Cricket Scotland playing guidelines for the playing of internal club training games (as of 18 July 2020).
See the attached Cricket Scotland document below here and keep your teammates aware and safe. We are fortunate to be permitted to get some play. Let's follow guidelines and ensure that we remain able to do so.
Some of these guidelines, in particular for adult games, adult games with young people (17 and under), are summarised and highlighted below.
PRIOR TO CLUB TRAINING GAMES
Do not attend if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or be required to isolate.
Social distancing guidance should be adhered to at all times (including throughout warm-ups).
Personal hygiene measures should be carried out at home before, during and after cricket activity.
Be aware that for all participants there an increase in transmission risk associated with partaking in even socially distanced group activity.
(In general, do not expect Nunholm club toilets necessarily to be open. It depends on circumstance. Look at the game specific information. Go beforehand.)
DURING CLUB TRAINING GAMES
11-a-side cricket can return as long as groups are limited to a maximum of 28 participants, including coaches and officials.
Players should turn up changed (the changing rooms, as required, are closed for use).
Avoid arriving early. Players should not arrive more than 15 minutes before the match start time.
Players not on the field should maintain social distancing at all times.
Adhere to indicated areas, separated positions, e.g. for the batting side.
Pitch positions should maintain 2m physical distance where possible. This may result in for example, only one slip position.
Bring and use your own equipment.
Where possible limit and avoid any sharing of equipment and apply strict hand hygiene and item cleaning if done.
Batters should sanitise their bat when leaving the field of play and Wicket Keepers should sanitise their gloves.
No sweat or saliva is to be applied to the ball at any time.
All participants should sanitise their hands prior to the start of the activity.
A ‘hygiene break’ (in play) should take place every six overs or every 20 minutes.
- the ball is cleaned (by the Captain) with an anti-bacterial wipe
- and all participants’ hands are cleaned using a suitable sanitiser.
The ball should make its way direct back to the bowler e.g. ball goes straight from wicketkeeper to bowler (rolling it seems helpful).
Bring your own snack, drink. Do not share. No cricket tea will be provided.
Batters are to run in distinct running lines to ensure they are not within 2m of the bowler or other batter e.g. non striker to run 2m wide and follow the indicated line(s).
No high fives, no team handshakes, etc - maintain social distancing please (even if someone takes all 10!).
Scoring should be outside where possible. Communal scorebooks passed from one player to another should be avoided.
Spectators are not permitted, with the exception of parents/carers where players are children.
In the event of rain, participants should return to their own vehicle to maintain social distancing if there is insufficient outdoor cover from the rain to maintain social distancing.
AFTER CLUB TRAINING GAMES
All participants should sanitise their hands after the completion of activity.
One volunteer should be responsible for collecting and disinfecting any shared equipment.
Any limited social gathering after the activity must adhere to current Scottish Government guidelines on hospitality and social distancing.
(Follow the club signage and guidance for entering and using the toilets, and the bar e.g. to use the toilets enter through the main front entrance and then follow the required one-way route out.)
