The cricket club are very sad to hear of the passing of Mac Creedon last week.

Mac was a stalwart for the long standing Crichton Royal Cricket Club in Dumfries, before it ceased to exist, playing at their pitch in the Crichton Estate grounds, and also for Ruthwell.

He was a great run-getter for the Crichton side, and was a competitive quality wicketkeeper and nothing pleased him more than claiming yet another victim to one of his famous leg-side side stumpings by walking up to the wicket.

He was also the driver, and a provider of cricket tales, and the publisher through his Solway Print company for the club book on the history of Dumfries Cricket Club, "Ghosts in White Flannels", which was published in 2015.

He was a keen supporter, and sponsor, of the Cricket Club and a regular at the Sports Club with the weekend 'old boys' in the bar and after playing their regular doubles squash matches on the squash courts.

Our sincere condolences to his wife Julie, and to Amanda and Mark, and to all to of his family and friends.

The funeral will take place at 11am at The Crichton Memorial Church, Dumfries.
