Our Winter Indoor Programme starts on 31st October and runs in Spain for Chris with the Scotland XI.


Overseas Cricket
Chris (McBride number 3) has been playing for the Scotland XI in the European Cricket Championship Finals Week in Spain this week. This is T10 cricket, 10 overs a side. Here are Chris's highlights for his Player of the Match award in hitting 56 off 20 balls against Spain.

Junior Cricket Indoor Programme - from 31st Oct
Junior cricket is returning after our break with our Winter Indoor Programme. It starts the week after the October school holidays on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays after school for Stars, Blasters and Chargers.

First sessions are on Mon 31 October (Stars), Wed 2 November (Juniors/Blasters) at St Josephs and Fri 4 November (Juniors/Chargers) at Dumfries Academy.

The dates are below and this schedule has now been added here on our web site and is there on your website user personal schedule if applicable. We will be flexible about age categories. The Academy hall booking on Fridays provides the option of hard ball nets.

Monday 5-6pm (5-8years) St Josephs College (31 Oct-5 Dec) & (16 Jan – 13 Feb)
Wednesday 5-6pm (9-13 years) St Josephs College (2 Nov – 7 Dec) & (18 Jan – 15 Feb)
Friday 4:30-6pm (14-18 years) Dumfries Academy (4 Nov – 9 Dec) & (20 Jan – 17 Feb)

It is helpful if you can indicate if you are available to come to a session via the website.

Friday Indoor Training - from 4 Nov
The Friday indoor sessions are also going to be available for senior and women & girls training. This is going to evolve based on player engagement. Friday 4:30-6pm Dumfries Academy (4 Nov – 9 Dec) & (20 Jan – 17 Feb).

Women's Cricket
Women and Girls sessions continue on Sunday mornings at the club 11-12pm and are scheduled on the website. Mark if you can come on there. If interested contact womenscricket@dumfriescricketclub.com and these are suitable for starters.

Scotland at the World Cup
The Men's T20 World Cup starts on Sunday in Australia. Scotland start early on Monday, the 17th Oct, with a game against West indies followed by two other Group A games against Ireland and Zimbabwe.

Awards Night - Sat 19th November 6pm
Our rescheduled Awards Night is on Saturday 19th November at the clubhouse starting at 6pm. Watch out here for more details.

Cricket Club AGM
The 2022 AGM is to take place in December. Please consider if you could help the club on the committee or in another role or by volunteering. Contact us on dumfriescricketclub@gmail.com if so.

Net Lane 1 Closed
Lane 1 (nearest the ground) is closed for use until we can examine and attend to the nets. Use lanes 2 and 3 please.

Collect your kit
It is time to take your kit home from the club please if you are not using it for training e.g. we need a cleared home changing room (it is getting painted!) and more room in the scorehut to store equipment.

Register on the website
Parents, participants, supporters, make sure you are registered on the website (go HERE) to receive news of winter activities and cricket at your Club. This is how we communicate with our supporters. Don't miss out!

Dumfries Sports Club
Congratulations to our Sports Club Treasurer and Secretary Gladys (McClymont) who has won a World Cup Silver medal for Scotland at the Hockey Masters World Cup in South Africa along with sports club stalwarts and teammates Margaret Miller and Angie Beattie.

And a big thank you to Willie who is in the process of completing a re-paint of our away changing room.
