Parents, participants, supporters, make sure you are registered on the website (go HERE) to receive news of winter activities and cricket at your Club. This is how we communicate with our supporters.

2022 Club Awards to come
We took the decision to cancel the Club Day last Saturday as a mark of respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with the country entering a period of mourning.

In cricket terms it was disappointing not to have this as a culmination to our playing season and to get our juniors here at the club at the same time as our senior players.

However we are re-arranging the scheduled end of season Club Awards on a date to be announced. And we are just finalising the indoor coaching programme and this will be communicated directly to members in the very near future. So do register on our website and follow us @dumfriescricket not to miss out.

Representative Cricket
Cricket Scotland also took the decision to cancel games last weekend so James (Hobman) missed out on one more chance to perform for Scotland U17s in the two scheduled matches against Jersey U17s at Ayr.

Cricket Scotland's Regional T20 Blitz was also not played but has been re-arranged for this weekend at Ayr on Saturday and then Clydesdale on Sunday. However transfer news this week suggests that Chris (McBride) will be featuring for a Western Warriors side for the very first time.

Scotland Women in World Cup Qualifiers
Good luck to women's team players Lorna (Jack) and Hannah (Rainey) who are in Abu Dhabi in the Middle East with Scotland Women as they try to qualify for the Women's T20 World Cup. Sue is their team manager and is reporting temperatures of 45 degrees! They have a friendly against Zimbabwe on Friday.

Matches are streamed online and their first group game is on Sunday afternoon the 18th Sep (vs USA then Bangladesh, Ireland). The top two teams in the eight-team event will qualify for the 2023 T20 World Cup in South Africa. You can follow the side's progress online @CricketScotland. Details from the ICC are HERE

W&G Soft Ball Cricket
Soft ball cricket for women and girls is continuing on Friday evenings at 6pm at Nunholm. It is good to see some new participants coming along so don't be shy about coming along to try some social cricket.

Nunholm Ground Work
A lot of work to prepare the square for next season has been going on this week and the square is roped off again to let the grass grow before winter. Thanks to the Ashleigh Ground team this week - Simon, Davie, Trefor, Drew and Mark.

At last all the new sightscreen slats which we had to purchase this season due to significant damage last winter have been painted black on one side for white ball matches. Do make sure we look after them for next season.
