Our Winter Indoor Programme starts Mon/Wed/Fri NOW from Monday 7th November.

Overseas Cricket

Rumour has it he has been a net bowler for the Scotland team playing in the T20 World Cup in Hobart in Tasmania.

And good luck also to Adam on his way to Pakistan for another winter of cricket.

Junior Cricket Indoor Programme - from Mon 7 Nov
Indoor junior cricket is starting the week after the October school holidays on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays after school for Stars, Blasters and Chargers.

NB There has been a change of plans and we have been asked to start our bookings a week later from Monday, the 7th November.

First sessions are on Mon 7 November (Stars), Wed 9 November (Juniors/Blasters) at St Josephs and Fri 11 November (Juniors/Chargers) at Dumfries Academy.

Newcomers and starters are very welcome to come and try. Contact us on dumfriescricketclub@gmail.com .

The dates are below and this training schedule has now been added here on our web site and is there on your website user personal schedule if applicable. We will be flexible about age categories. The Academy hall booking on Fridays gives us the option of hard ball nets.

Monday 5-6pm (5-8years) St Josephs College (7 Nov-5 Dec) & (16 Jan – 13 Feb)
Wednesday 5-6pm (9-13 years) St Josephs College (9 Nov–7 Dec) & (18 Jan – 15 Feb)
Friday 4:30-6pm (14-18 years) Dumfries Academy (11 Nov–9 Dec) & (20 Jan – 17 Feb)

Senior Indoor Training - from Friday 11 Nov
Friday indoor sessions are also taking place on these Fridays, 4:30-6pm at the Dumfries Academy Sports Hall. Come at a time that you can manage.

Suitable for our Sunday, Midweek, 2s and 1s senior sides these are part of our cricket membership packages. New players are very welcome to join in by contacting dumfriescricketclub@gmail.com.

Junior Net Training
Thanks to Trefor for instigating some outdoor net training for interested juniors in the afternoon during the school holidays.

Note that net Lane 1 is closed. Lane 1 (nearest the ground) is closed for use until we can examine and attend to the nets. Use lanes 2 and 3 please.

Women's Cricket
Women and Girls sessions continue on Sunday mornings at the club 11-12pm and are scheduled on the website. Mark if you can come on there.

If interested contact womenscricket@dumfriescricketclub.com and these are suitable for starters.

Scotland at the T20 World Cup
The crucial game for Scotland in the Men's T20 World Cup in Australia is on Friday morning, 9am, where a win against Zimbabwe will take them through their group to the second phase of the competition.

So far they have beaten former T20 World Cup winners West Indies by 42 runs and lost to Ireland after a remarkable century batting partnership by Ireland recovered their chase of Scotland's 175 for 5.

Cricket Club AGM
The 2022 AGM is to take place in December. Please consider if you could help the club on the committee or in another role or by volunteering. Contact us on dumfriescricketclub@gmail.com if so.

Collect your kit!
It is time to take your kit home from the club please if you are not using it for training e.g. we need a cleared home changing room (it is about to be painted!) and removed from the scorehut to make room to store equipment.

Dumfries Sports Club
Remember as a Sports Club member you can approach Willie behind the bar if you wish to use the Club as a venue for a possible personal function for yourself.
