Your Move Dumfries beat fourth placed Irvine on Saturday to remain in second spot in Western Premiership 2, albeit after a close final over finish. Visitors Irvine chose to bat and James Hobman struck early to dismiss one opener but partnerships developed around batter number 3, Zaman, for Irvine to be well placed at 155 for 3 with ten overs to go. The Farries, Kirk & McVean Player of the Match, Tommy McGrath, then removed him as the first of his four wickets for Irvine to finish on 204 runs for 8 wickets.

Dumfries lost their top two run scorers this season early to be set back on 28 for 2. After that it took a team batting effort as a series of batters contributed runs but not the big score. Adam Malik and Jordan Maritz top scored each with 35, the latter partnered by Fergus Bainbridge with 24, and an 8th wicket partnership between Alan Davidson and Callum Reynolds-Lewis seemed it could be the match-winning one. However two further dismissals left Hobman to hit the two winning runs in the final over for a tense one-wicket victory.

The Dumfries 2nd team, Nunholm, continued their 100% winning record to be clear at the top of the Western Championship 2 table after a decisive 153 run win at East Kilbride seconds. That was set up by a hundred Nunholm opening partnership between Andy Reed and James Cox. Reed was caught for 43 and the McBurnie's Removals Man of the Match Cox hit 73. Scott Beveridge with 31 and Nairn Cubbon, 23 not out, contributed further runs to an imposing total of 250 for 7 after the 40 overs.

Then the Cubbon twins each took an early wicket but Harith Hassan with 4 wickets and Trevor Newport with 2 then together spun out the home team with the final wicket falling to Ajith Vadakkoott for East Kilbride to be all out for 97.

In the Scottish Regional Series at Brechin on Sunday, Nairn and Munro Cubbon, along with Billy Morgan, played well to represent Dumfries in the successful Western Warriors U15s side that defeated Caledonian Highlanders U15s. Nairn top and tailed the opponents innings by taking the first and the last wicket as the side from the North fell some forty runs short.

Dumfries U13s lost out to Stainton on Friday after scoring 74 at Nunholm. Danny Allsop was the stand-out bowler taking three of the four Stainton wicket to fall. With the majority making their debuts, the Dumfries U11s had a creditable effort at Temple Sowerby on Sunday in scoring 83 with Lennox Endredy taking two of the three of the home side wickets to fall before their total was passed.

The Dumfries Sunday XI had a close two wicket win over Penrith with the kudos going to the Lochthorn Medical Player of the Match, Sultan Kamran, with 63 not out and Wahid Jabarkhil, with 51 not out, in the side's reply of 187 for 8.
