Dumfries U16s had a good 7 wicket T20 win over Ferguslie to reach the semi-finals of the U16 Scottish Cup on Friday. Two wickets from both Finley Trigg and Munro Cubbon stemmed the Ferguslie innings and three wickets by Danny Allsop kept the visitors to 73 all out. Munro and Nairn Cubbon then batted maturely in a forty run fourth wicket partnership for the win, with scores of 34 and 29 not out respectively. Fresh from his Scotland U16 debut during the week, Munro was the Dumfries Lions Club Player of the Match, and along with Munro, Macey Corbett-Byers also made her Scotland debut playing for Scotland U15s Girls in a series against the Netherlands.

In Western Premiership One on Saturday, Vigilant Dumfries faced a big total by Prestwick of 322 for 6 at home on Saturday. Ben Plowman took three of those wickets. The JC Roofing Dumfries Player of the Match Adam Malik was once more top scorer, with 30, but Dumfries were all out for 122 in reply.

In Western Championship Two, Dumfries 2nd XI won a close encounter with Hamilton Crescent by 9 runs. Max Corbett-Byers with his century score of 105 took the Nunholm side to 200 all out. Ross Lamb then led the way with an economical spell with four wickets to restrict the West of Scotland side to 191 for 9, after they needed 12 runs off the final over. Max edged Ross to gain the Hole in Wa' Inn Player of the Match kudos.

On Sunday, Dumfries came out on top in a close encounter to win by 4 wickets against Wigton in the Sunday League and to take top spot. Wigton were 150 all out with Adam Malik the Muirhead Electrical Player of the Match with impressive figures of 6 wickets for 10 runs. Dave Lightfoot took two and Lachlan Osmond one wicket. A team batting effort then saw the home side to the target for the loss of six wickets. Aiden Goodin top scored with 34 and junior players contributed with Isaac Ishmael scoring 21, and Cory Dawson's 26 not out took the side to victory.

On Saturday, the 1st team, Vigilant Dumfries, play at Drumpellier in Western Premiership One. The 2nd team, Nunholm, play Anniesland at home in Western Championship 2, and Dumfries U16s play Carlton in the semi-final of the U16 Scottish Cup at home on Friday. Also next week, Dumfries CC hosts the Celtic Cup with Scotland U15 Boys playing Ireland U15s in a series of matches throughout the week.
