Dumfries had a close loss to Clydesdale in the Premier League at home on Saturday despite a top score from Chris Bellwood as the Icon Sports Player of the Match.

Your Move Dumfries batted first and the innings never quite managed to accelerate enough to reach a par score on a good Nunholm wicket. Chris Bellwood partnered opener Alan Davidson to take the side past a hundred before Davidson was bowled by spinner Bashir for 33. Bellwood was another Bashir victim to a caught and bowled for a run-a-ball 63. The Clydesdale spinners managed to tie things down and also removed Jesse Smit for 23. Van Zyl completed a fifty supported by Adam Malik before the former was caught for 56 for 224 for 5 but now with four overs left. A series of wickets fell, including Malik for 20, as Dumfries tried for runs and ended 249 all out off the last ball.

Chris Brockwell and skipper Chris McCutcheon combined to break the opening partnership at 63 for 2 but a century partnership between Young and Jawad put Clydesdale back on course. However Smit removed Young lbw for 57 and four runs later Brockwell bowled Jawad for 48 and with pressure applied keeper Van Zyl held another off Smit, 176 for 5 with 12 overs to go.

With six an over required things needed to go Dumfries's way but number seven Mughal had other ideas as he managed to score most of the remaining runs scoring 54 not out and completed the innings with a six for a four wicket Clydesdale win with just over three overs left.

Your Move Dumfries still retained their fourth place in the Premier League and are away at Ferguslie on Saturday.
