2s won in League Derby at Galloway

On Saturday at Gatehouse, Nunholm managed a win at Galloway by just 5 runs in their derby encounter in West Division 2. Nunholm were put in to bat and runs proved hard to come by with opener Callum Reynolds-Lewis and Max Corbett-Byers the top run scorers with 20 and 25 respectively. John Woodhouse added a valuable twelve runs at the end of the innings. Carr took four top order wickets for the Gatehouse side and Bradley finished off the innings with three as Nunholm totalled 117 all out.

After John Woodhouse bowled one opener for a duck, Galloway were looking in a good position with a strong partnership between McGrath and Hulatt. However Hyder Hussain got McGrath caught for 21 and in a crucial over Matt Pickstock had Hulatt caught at long-off for 36 by Alexander and followed up by trapping the dangerous Druce LBW. After that a wicket by James little and a run out made it six down and then Davie Davidson and Stuart Alexander came on to apply their experience. Alexander took the penultimate wicket and Davie Davidson finished with figures of 3 for 9 as the home side were all out for 112 with Nunholm able to move up to 6th spot in Division 2.

The Devlin Driving School highlight of the day was the 'old is gold' moment with Davie Davidson and Stuart Alexander sharing the ball again in the final overs to take Dumfries 2nd XI to a five run win.
