The season's best bowling figures helped Nunholm to a battling three wicket win at St Ninians in Western Championship One. The Lochthorn Medical Player of the Match was Trevor Newport who spun his way to 6 wickets for 31 at Prestwick.
That restricted the home side to 213 all out. Callum Reynolds-Lewis also bowled well to dismiss Prestwick's two top scorers. James Cox and junior Nairn Cubbon opened the bowling and claimed an early wicket each with Nairn producing the perfect delivery to hit the stumps.
Nairn was also key in the eventual win. Nunholm were a long way adrift at 114 for 6 when his sixty-run partnership with Cox was crucial. Earlier Andy Reed with 37, Wahid Jabarkhil with 33 and Mackenzie Staples with 21 all made contributions but without the big score. Cubbon was caught for 15 but Cox with 37 not out and Danny Armstrong adding a further 27 not out gave Nunholm a valuable win with an all-round team effort.
