Dumfries Dynamos switch on at Nunholm

The Dumfries U11 Dynamos game at Dumfries Cricket Club produced a tense tied match which then went to a final bowl-off on the Saturday morning to try and separate the teams.

A sunny day saw lots of cricket skills and spills. Isaac and Angus made their big-time cricket debuts in the middle. Billy unveiled his reverse sweep. Bill had retained his bowling skills for his return as well. Angus did take a good catch but the Coach's Play of the Day came from returnee Donnie White. He took two excellent catches at square leg, off two consecutives deliveries, to put himself and a grateful and surprised bowler on a hat-trick.

A careful recount of the scorebook meant a tied game. The resultant bowl-off, despite multiple 'hits', also could not separate the sides so cricket was the winner after a two-ties contest.

Thanks go to senior junior Max Corbett-Byers for helping the club junior juniors by umpiring and the junior parents for their assistance. Play resumes next Saturday morning at Dumfries Sports Club with soft-ball activities and training on Mondays, 6-7pm. Contact the club for details.
