Dumfries under 11s hosted Penrith in the first round of the knockout Cup competition on Sunday morning and successfully coped with the change from pairs cricket to an out-is-out format.
Dumfries batted well by not losing a wicket in their 16 overs with contributions from Cory Dawson who retired with a score of 32, and with Oliver Clark Maxwell not out 24 and Macey Byers not out 9.
Everyone played their part by bowling, and in the field, which got Dumfries comfortably through to the next round. Angus Middlemiss, Sarah Cox, Cory and Macey took a wicket.
James Hallam Player of the Match went to Oliver Clark Maxwell for his all round efforts with bat, ball and in the field.
