Batting solidity against the Wigton under-11s bowling attack was the difference for the Dumfries under-11s in their home league match on Sunday. They registered ten more dismissals than the visitors which determined the final winning margin by an older and more experienced side.
The Clarke-Maxwell twins batted with positive results with one boundary from Jonty reaching the adult boundary and with two fours from Oliver, including one offside drive which was noted in the coach's match notes. He finished top scorer with 18.
The net total of 230 was hard to defend despite the two dismissals achieved by good bowling from Angus Pickstock, and all the bowlers bowled tidely, but Wigton kept well ahead of the home side net total for the win.
