Langholm U12s responded to a Dumfries win last week with a well deserved victory last Friday at Nunholm. A comprehensive victory was their reward for an excellent bowling and fielding display. Superb opening bowling by Ryan Johnstone and Corey Park gave them combined figures of 3 for 15 from 6 overs. The addition of two run-outs and back-up bowling by Kerr Gordon and Tom Roberts who combined with 4 for 5 from their 4 overs condemned the Nunholm youngsters to their lowest score of the summer.
Langholm were then resolute in their run-chase against ironically Dumfries's best bowling display of the season. James Hobman was the star with 2 for 6 from 5 overs and it took an undefeated 20 from Jack Henderson and a quick 15 from Bradley Wilson to see them home. Tom Henderson then came in to crack an unbeaten 15 for a total of 67 from the full 20 overs which allowed them to try to bowl Dumfries out again in their unused 10 overs but Max Corbett-Byers and James Little were up to the task second time round - both undefeated on 13 and 10 respectively.
Dumfries - 23 all out and 28 for one
Langholm - 67 for 3 (20 overs)
