The Dumfries youngsters travelled to Penrith on Friday for a cup-tie against their "Green" XI and were victorious.

The U13s win their League Cup semi-final.

For the second week running it was an all-round effort; with bat, ball and in the field.

Put into bat, the power of Billy Morgan, Munro Cubbon, top-scorer Avi Chaturvedi and Nairn Cubbon was fused together by Isaac Ishmael. The innings was then timed to perfection as Jasmine McCulloch, coming in for the last 5 overs, also went at a run-a-ball and together with Nairn boosted the total to an impressive 123 for 4 (with no retirals!). Against what was a good bowling attack the Nunholm batters can be rightly pleased with themselves.

The Penrith batting was perhaps not as strong as their bowling but was given little chance. Lachlan Osmond and Jasmine opened up and kept it tight from the start and when the first wicket fell curtesy of a direct hit from Billy Morgan there was only one winner. Cory Dawson then took 3 wickets in 4 balls and Beth Cubbon got her customary victim and that was that.
