Dumfries Lose Good Quality Cup Final
Having won one game each this season in their head-to-heads a close game was envisaged against Lanercost and despite the margin of victory it was obvious that both are good sides.
The game was full of excellent cricket from both teams; accurate bowling, a variety of quality shots, very few extras, a couple of good catches, good wicket-keeping and good fielding in general.
Dumfries batted first. Against a hostile opening attack and with a depleted line-up they had to ca canny. Munro made it to his retiral and Nairn almost did - succumbing to the pressure of running out of partners. The tail did stick it out though - Archie Coltart and Bethan Cubbon the not-out batters.
In the second innings Munro and Cory both struck early to give the Nunholm side hope but Owen Alban and Matthew Coulthard guided their side to victory. A great catch by Cory reignited the flame but it was not to be.
