Dumfries won their league match at Galloway on Sunday with Skipper Sue leading the way with 49 not out.

Dumfries played two matches on Sunday thanks to the help of their hosts Galloway. Their first match in the morning was a Scottish Cup game against Ayr which resulted in a narrow defeat.

It was a National League match against Galloway in the second match.

Again Dumfries batted first but this time lost Kirsty Strachan caught off the first ball from Fiona Ramsey. This time it was Sue Strachan batting at three that dictated the course of the innings. She shared partnerships with Ryan, McCubbin, who scored another 20, Benson and then Cowan who was not out. Sue Strachan was the Parkkdale Garage Player of this Match for her 49 not out and Dumfries finished on 104 for 4 in the twenty overs.

The Dumfries bowlers then successfully managed to defend that total with the help of a good performance from keeper McCubbin behind the stumps and in the field from Pip Benson and Sally Hammond. Kirsty Strachan and Rosy Ryan shared wickets and Sue McBride appealed for and got an lbw as Galloway successfully batted the twenty overs but finished short of the required target. Kate Maxwell took the Galloway batting honours with her score of 56 as Galloway finished on 86 for 5.

It was a successful day for the three teams thanks to the effort of the Galloway players to support the two games.
