Some of the club’s women cricketers played for the West ‘Allstars’ in the Women’s Premier League at RHC in Edinburgh on Sunday.
Some remarkable scoring saw a 159 not out in the first innings and then 115 in the second, both scored at a strike rate of 150-200%, and a total of 237 successfully chased in the 28th over by RHC for the loss of three wickets.
In the first innings Kirsty Strachan and Orla Montgomery got to double figures but the eye-catcher was a score of 159 not out from Dalton.
Facing a similar batting onslaught in the second innings were Kirsty Strachan with 2 wickets (including bowling the centurian Levenson), and juniors Katy Anderson, who conceded only 28 off 5 overs (just one expensive one), and Niamh Muir who went for a couple of fours only.
Meanwhile Scotland Women A started with two convincing wins in the County 50 over Championship against Durham and Northumberland.
They have two home fixtures in this competition at Nunholm against Northumberland and Cumbria on the Sunday and Monday of the bank holiday weekend at the end of May.
