The Dumfries Sunday XI lost the toss and Langholm asked the vistors to bat first.
Openers Wahid Jabarkhil and Max Corbett-Byers started strongly with Wahid blazing 52 of 27 balls(retired), and supported by Max with a rapid 43 runs off 39.
Scott Muir and Simon McIntyre, on his debut, closed the innings out with 18 and 16 runs each undefeated and Dumfries completed the innings with 135 for the loss of 1 wicket.
Wahid continued his form with an opening bowling spell of 2 wickets for 5 runs off his first 2 overs.
Then a spell of tight bowling from various Dumfries bowlers kept the run rate in check but Langholm's Donaldson and Wilson launched a comeback with Donaldson falling on 43 from the bowling of Adam Malik and a catch by Max.
With Wilson still at the crease and the required run rate of 10 an over, Dumfries managed to apply more pressure with 3 run outs from Adam, Mark, and Max.
Ultimately Langholm fell short by just 8 runs and both teams are looking forward to the return fixture in Dumfries in 2 weeks time.
