The Sunday Development side had the second last over thriller of the weekend at home against Appleby. Dumfries batted first and opener Jabarkhil provided a rapid score of 35. Adam Malik and Sean Thornely (22) put together a partnership to reach 122 for 3 and then Malik, with a retired score of 50, and Peter Gage and Jacob Holden, both not out, saw the side to 168 for 6 after the 36 overs.
From Appleby on 60 for 3, with wickets bowled by Reynolds-Lewis and Bainbridge, an eighty plus partnership between Donnelly and Howard set the visitors up for a win. However skipper Sean Thornely took two wickets, one to a great catch by keeper Gage, and spinner Reynolds-Lewis took his second and with two overs left it was down to four runs to win. Thornely then took two wickets to make it interesting with two needed of the last with two wickets left but Appleby successfully reached their target and 172 for 8.
