Runs were evidently saved up from Saturday for the next day as the Dumfries Development XI compiled a massive 301 for 3 off 36 overs in the Sunday league at home against Carlisle. They were teed up by a rapid maiden century by the Icon Sports Player of the Match young batter Max Corbett-Byers.
He took the score to 166 for 1 when he was bowled for 103 attempting another six. Callum Reynolds-Lewis retired on 50, followed by Sean Thornely on 53 as he and Jabarkhil (33) provided a contrast in styles. Malik and Bainbridge then responded to the scoreboard pressure and hit fifteen of the last over to get the score past three hundred. The Dumfries bowling attack then shared wickets as the visitors were bowled out for 122. Fergus Bainbridge took four wickets, James Little two as did the spin of Harith Hassan but two highlights were a great slip catch by Thornely and another stunning diving catch by Jabarkhil.
