In the Eden Valley Sunday League, Wetheral were the visitors with the Dumfries Sunday XI batting first. Wahid Jabarkhil imposed himself opening hitting nine boundaries and 45 runs off just 28 balls and was out caught attempting a ramp over the keeper. Things were more sedate with Scott Muir scoring 35 but wickets were being lost and it required a ninth wicket partnership of over forty by junior Bill Middlemiss and Harith Hassan to reach a reasonable total of 165 all out with a couple of overs remaining.
It proved not reasonable enough with both Wetherall openers, Smith and Timeron, reaching a retiral score of fifty. That left a dwindling required run rate for the remaining batters. Jabarkhil did take a caught and bowled chance and Lachlan Osmond picked up one wicket and assisted in a Billy Morgan run out in the closing stages as Wetheral reached 167 for 3. Jabarkhil claimed the Learmont and Sim Builders Player of the Match award.
