Dumfries batted first and after a few watchful opening overs Adam Malik and Mat Williams provided an opening fifty partnership. Malik in particular moved up through the gears and punished anything short as he reached the retiral score with 51 not out. Williams scored 36 and junior Max Corbett-Byers managed a good strike rate as he hit 32. Callum Reynolds-Lewis also provided some final overs impetus hitting 20 not out.

The tale of the Lanercost innings was that batters got in but then the Dumfries bowlers got them out. Callum Reynolds-Lewis and Luke McBurnie took a wicket each before Dumfries turned to spin with Aiden Goodin and Declan Brooks bowling in tandem. Goodin claimed three wickets and Brooks two as the match was kept in the balance. Vaughn Staples added to the spin attack and bowled well for the second day in a row at Nunholm and was rewarded with one wicket. With the required run rate up, few wickets left and available overs receding Dumfries looked favourites. However the vagaries of Sunday batting orders meant a capable number ten was then able to get Lanercost home comfortably in the end to win by two wickets.

Whilst Dumfries were left to regret not enough runs and catches not held the Player of the Match went to Aiden Goodin who was unlucky to only get three wickets.
