The Dumfries Sunday XI also played away but this time in the diametrically opposite direction one hundred and forty miles away from the 1st XI in Paisley at Appleby-Eden.
Again there were club debuts, this time for Matt Pickstock and John Woodhouse, but once again the side did not score enough runs being all out for 130. This time the experienced hand was Jerry Goodin who batted very well for his score of 53 not out. He was assisted by a doughty innings of 27 by James Cox.
Despite an early wicket by Hyder Hussain, the second wicket partnership was the largest of the game as Moore, with 53 not out, and Hodder with 37 took the game away from the visitors. Dumfries responded with four more wickets, two to Trevor Newport, another to Hussain, and a run out, but it was a five wicket win for Appleby. A top scorer for Dumfries, Jerry Goodin, was again the Jardine Funeral Directors Player of the Match.
