The James Hallam Youth side won their opening match of the Midweek League on Wednesday with a seven wicket win over Dalling’s Dynamos at Nunholm.
The visitors batted first and a good bowling performance saw them reach 77 for 9 after the twenty overs. An effective bowling unit included Sean Thornley, James Hobman, Rory Thornley, Luke McBurnie and Vaughn Staples. Chris Brockwell was the top scorer with 25 retired. The youthful Nunholm side were also competitive in the field with a direct hit run-out by Adam Malik being one of the highlights.
In reply the home side kept up a healthy run rate led by Jacob Taylor and Adam Malik with 27 (retired) and 26 (retired) respectively and they eased to a comfortable win with eight overs and seven wickets remaining.
