After reaching the U16 Scottish Cup semi-final last season, the Dumfries U16s reached the next stage of this year's T20 competition with an 8 wicket win over East Renfrewshire at home on Sunday.
The bowlers kept the visitors to 104 for 6 with Lachlan Osmond taking the first two wickets after a useful opening partnership. Finley Trigg bowled another, and Nairn Cubbon managed three run outs in the closing overs.
Then a big opening partnership by Bill Middlemiss and Osmond settled the course of the match. They could not quite complete the task with Middlemiss bowled for 38 with the score on 86. Osmond was also bowled for 34 and Munro Cubbon hurried to the winning target with 15 not out.
