Jess McCulloch (Galloway) and Orla Montgomery featured for the Scotland Women’s Performance Academy against the Durham Women’s Academy in games at Nunholm. The weekend rain prevented the Monday fixture from taking place but two T20 games were played on Tuesday.
The Durham openers dominated in game one readily chasing down a winning target of 99 for no loss to win. Despite a lower total in game two, Scotland took seven wickets with the target reached in the 18th overs for a second win for the side from Durham. McCulloch contributed a not out score of 14, and the most productive partnership, on her debut and Montgomery claimed the first two wickets with a bowled and an excellent run-out.
For some on the Scottish side it was a particularly important game with the Scotland squad yet to be selected for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier Tournament held in Dundee and Arbroath at the end of August.
