Your Move Dumfries travelled to Uddingston in a bid to secure Western Premier points.

Uddingston batted and prospered despite an early wicket to Beveridge. Prolific scorer Awais was aided by Gul as they pushed past fifty. Despite injury Alan Davidson persisted to bowl Awais for 33. Chris McCutcheon added two wickets, including Gul for 44, and when Tommy McBride ran out Lyons, Uddingston were 105 for 5.

Former Dumfries player Niall Alexander then scored 25 as Uddingston batted the fifty overs to reach 188 for 9. Brockwell broke an Alexander-Sabri partnership, dismissing both, and Tommy McGrath book-ended that with two wickets.

Dumfries then lost two wickets to unpredictable bounce as Alexander and Sabri combined again to have them twelve for three. That became worse at five down for twenty five with Dumfries seemingly out of the game. However, Tommy McGrath and Uday Redipalli put together a fine 54 run stand before Redipalli was lbw to Gul for 22. Batting well, McGrath was then senior partner in another seventh wicket stand of 56 with youngster Fergus Bainbridge.

The game within a game was for batting points as McGrath and Bainbridge picked off the first target passing 113 and then 132 to gain what may be very valuable points. Three runs later both were out, McGrath short of a deserved fifty on 44 and Bainbridge for a resolute 16 as Dumfries subsided to 138 all out.

McGrath was Nith Valley Cleaning Player of the Match for his hundred runs in partnerships and the bonus points gained did move Dumfries out of the two relegation places, just, with one more game to play on Saturday at Prestwick.

Nunholm were looking for a third win in a row, at home against Renfrew 2nds. Nunholm batted and a third wicket partnership from Mat Williams and Jerry Goodin took the score to nearly sixty before Williams was lbw for 24. Goodin followed for 22 and from 73 for 5 the younger batters were needed to revive fortunes.

Callum Reynolds-Lewis and Sean Thornely managed a 54 run partnership before Thornely was well caught. Nunholm were not able to accelerate but Reynolds-Lewis was the Nith Valley Cleaning Player of the Match with 47 not out in the total of 154 for 9.

Opening bowlers Cox and Woodhouse then kept the run scoring down and included a great catch by Sam Thornely off Cox. However, a couple of loose overs and the score had passed fifty before Hyder Hussain and Sean Thornely struck with a wicket apiece.

Renfrew ground out runs and then accelerated as decisions did not go Nunholm's way. The introduction of David Davidson brought the first of his three wickets lbw and Cox got Chopra caught behind for 44 as Nunholm took late wickets but the first innings runs were insufficient as the visitors won by three wickets.
