Your Move Dumfries, the 1s, did win a league this season; their Fair Play league.

The side took first spot in the fair play league for the WDCU Premier Division and that was despite being at the other end of the table in terms of results.

That is a credit to the Club and to the credit of the players since the point of playing is for it to be an enjoyable experience for both sides and the opposing team makes a significant difference to that. We aim for that to be the case for all our sides from the youngest juniors upwards. So a well done to Captain Chris and his team.

Teams are awarded points per match by their opposition ranging from a maximum of 5 down to the minimum of 1.

The 2s were a commendable middle of the table, in 5th spot, in the Reserve League, which was the league with the lowest fair play scores of all the Saturday leagues in the West. An outcome which was probably not disconnected with the situation that this league is the last to get allocated umpires of which we had none at all allocated for our 2nd XI games this season.

The average fair play scores per division got worse 'down' the league structure perhaps mirroring the order in which umpiring officials get allocated.
