Saturday League Places
The WDCU decision on the result of the 1sts Covid halted game at Greenock has been announced publicly on Thursday with the 25 win points being awarded to Dumfries. Their decision can be read here - wdcu.co.uk/greenock-v-your-move-dumfries-sat-28th-august-2021-updated-result/

This places the side as currently on 4 wins and a points percentage of 37.54% in third last place with one round to go. If the calculations are correct this means the firsts are safe, just, providing they avoid a one point deduction for over rates, etc!

This would still be in doubt but for Tommy McGrath and Fergus Bainbridge getting that one last extra batting bonus point when the Dumfries 2nd innings score reached 132 last Saturday as a result of their crucial fifty plus partnership.

The same can't be said for the seconds who are set for the second last place in the Premier Reserve League and can expect to be playing in the West Second Division next season.

Gentlemen's Day last Saturday
The blazers were dusted off last Saturday for Gentlemen's Day with the entire 2nd XI (plus scorer) resplendent in their peacock finery and paraded in the traditional Gentlemen's Day strut video here - https://www.dumfriescricketclub.com/videos/2021-gentlemens-day-170738.html

Junior Cricket
The final under-11s Monday session was last Monday and was well attended. We will see everyone again when we go indoors after the October holidays. Parents, follow us on soclal media @dumfriescricket for upcoming details or join this website to find out.

The older junior sessions are continuing on Tuesdays and Thursdays (5:30pm onwards) until the light fails!

Ground work on the square on Sunday
The completion of the square renovations is planned to take place on Sunday starting at 11:30am and if there are enough helpers that should take around two hours. The sightscreens slats can also be removed and the boundary rope brought in too.

Let Davie know if you can help.

Scotland Men Win
Well done to the Scotland Men's team who achieved a win over Zimbabwe in Edinburgh on Wednesday in their first international fixture for, well, years.
