We are recuperating (phew) and getting ready to go again.

Indoor cricket - starting in October
Indoor cricket is to be announced shortly starting after the October half term at St Josephs.

More Than Cricket - getting social
Watch this space (here on our website and on social media @DumfriesCricket) for the Cricket Club social tennis and squash ladders and a winter social programme.

A Flashback to Gentlemen's Day
We got social at the recent 2021 Gentlemen's Day. A flashback with some more photos here -

Midweek Junior Cricket sessions
The Tuesday and Thursday junior sessions at Nunholm are continuing until the light goes and a shift to the weekend is necessary. Trefor has altered the times to 4:30-6pm.

Well done to Harith and Oliver who made trips recently to Glasgow for trial games for West U14s.

The Autumn Sunday Soft Ball Series (Sundays 11am-12) continued last Sunday morning with the highlight of the game being a six onto the tennis courts by Julie, and was that Caelainn's first six? Mark your availability through the Club website or App.

Help with Club Fundraising: With EasyFundraising Online Shopping
The cricket committee recognise that we need to do more fund raising to maintain and develop our programmes and cricket activities e.g. to fund and support indoor sessions this winter. We are currently operating with a financial deficit for season 2021 with outgoings exceeding the income that we have been able to generate.

An easy way to do this is when you are online shopping for yourself or for business. The retailer or supplier will make a donation to Dumfries Cricket Club at no extra cost to you whatsoever.

The 4 supporters active in 2021 have so far raised £220 pounds through their online shopping. We would like to double both numbers.

A special shout out for our new supporter this year Fergus B
who has managed to raise £60.

Dumfries Sports Club
Gym sessions
A reminder that the Fitness Suite at the Club is open for business to keep up your cricket fitness!

Bookings are required and can be made using the link below which can also be found on the cricket website menu. Note that a maximum of four people are permitted to train at the same time.

Saturday Junior Squash
Junior Squash and Racketball sessions are taking place on Saturdays from 5-6:30pm which is another opportunity for our cricket juniors to go multi-sport at our club over the winter.

And some of our cricket juniors are already taking part. Junior members are already also members of the squash and tennis clubs and of the Sports Club and so can join them.

Jim (Scriven) and the squash section can be contacted for further details here www.dumfriessrc.club/juniors

Ground work
Keep off the growing grass! Davie has put up the orange fence around part of the square. However the square is definitely turning green again after re-seeding.

Black is black. We are part way to having a fifth black sightscreen with more sightscreen slats painted this week.

Congratulations to Scotland Men
Cricket IS going on. In Oman. At the time of writing Scotland have made it three wins out of three in the Cricket World Cup League 2 with one game to go. Games are streamed live on www.icc.tv
