Fair Play first place for the Firsts
The 1s did win a league this season; their Fair Play league.

The side took first spot in the fair play league for the WDCU Premier Division. Teams are awarded points per match by their opposition ranging from a maximum of 5 down to the minimum of 1. So a well done to Captain Chris and his team. The 2s were a commendable middle of the table, in 5th spot, in the Reserve League.

Getting Social
Sat 23rd Oct - Goodins' Leaving Do
A big date coming up for us is the leaving do for Jerry and Aiden on Saturday evening, the 23rd October, from 7pm onwards at the Club - "It would be good to catch up with as many of you as possible for a final drink."

The Goodin family (Jeremy, Lee, Aiden & Hannah) have all been a big part of cricket in Dumfries over the last twenty years for both Dumfries CC and St. Michaels CC and we wish them well on their move back to New Zealand.

There is also news of the Winter Wee Bash to be shared. With the success of the regional summer Wee Bash this will also be regional with two festivals a month planned from November to April around the West region.

And we are wanting new participants for female cricket, so contact womenscricket@dumfriescricketclub.com .

Ground work
'Simon says' the re-seeded junior wickets are coming along really well (those to the house side of the artificial). So we are looking forward to good playing conditions for our junior games next summer. And with some more painting completed this week we now have 5 black sightscreens available for 'white ball' cricket matches at Nunholm.
