Good luck to Scotland Men in the T20 World Cup starting today, Sunday, at 3pm, from us here at Dumfries Cricket Club.
On TV at Sky Cricket, radio at BBC 5 Live Extra and online with clips and highlights on BBC and squad and tournament coverage at www.twitter.com/cricketscotland and www.twitter.com/T20WorldCup.
Pop down to the Club to watch their first match. Most of the Scotland squad have played at Nunholm and many against our first XI. Ask Drew about his bowling to his Scotland batting bunny.
Scotland's first match is against Bangladesh in the ICC Men's Twenty20 World Cup in Muscat, Oman (at 15:00PM). See www.t20worldcup.com
They are in Group A with Bangladesh, PNG, and Oman and play them in that order. The top 2 sides get into the Super 12 stage with two groups of 6.
Scotland have been in the Middle-East for a couple of weeks and have won three 50 overs games against PNG and Oman, and have won four T20s, including beating PNG, Ireland, Namibia and Netherlands, and lost the first game against Namibia.
The prospects are promising and if they finished second to Bangladesh they would play England, Australia, South Africa, West Indies and probably Sri Lanka.
Backing the newly purple Cricket Scotland #PurpleLids to INDIGO into the Super 12s!
