The list of award winners can be found here. Thank you to our coaches, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who contributed to our club this season.

The Dumfries Cricket Club Players of the Year were - for Vigilant Dumfries 1st XI, Adam Malik; Nunholm 2nd XI, Sultan Kamran; Youth, Lachlan Osmond; Junior, Edward Ellicott; Women, Jasmine McCulloch. In particular, all those that participated in the special Dumfries U16s Scottish Cup run win were recognised with deserved individual trophies.

Weekend Cricket
In the final fixture in Western Championship Two on Saturday, the 2s lost at home to leaders GHK Strathclyde to miss out on moving into second place and finished fourth in the final league table. Despite skipper Drew top scoring with 39 it was a low total of 116 which was set. The bowlers did well to have the visitors at 30 for 3 wickets but there were not enough runs to defend and the visitors won by 5 wickets.

Our weekend report is here and unfortunately, the Sunday XI match against Galloway was cancelled due to the weather.

Square Renovation
The Ashleigh Building Ground Team have been busy this week and the square has already been prepared and reseeded for the 2026 season. Keep off the new grass!

Tidy up at the Club
Amongst other tasks to complete, it is time to please remove any remaining kit bags from the changing room, to make sure that it is clear for cleaning.

Club Sessions
A reminder that our evening club sessions, for juniors and seniors, have concluded for the summer. Many thanks to our coaches and helpers who have supported our weekly evening sessions since the 31st March. Keep a lookout on the website for the start of our indoor sessions over the winter.

Representative Cricket
Munro had a good game for a WDCU Select XI on Sunday at Ayr against an ESCA Select. He changed the game with a direct hit run out to remove the top scorer when the East were 6 wickets down, 7 balls left, and 2 to win. Remarkably it still went to a tie and into a super over. Then he hit the winning runs off his one ball, and the last ball of the super over, by running 3, on top of earlier scoring 21 not out batting at five.

Jasmine also played a first game for Scotland 'A' Women on Saturday in a pathway game and her battling batting partnership helped the side recover from a losing position of 44 for 5 to an eventual convincing win and also contributed four tidy overs in the second innings.

Overseas Cricket
At the weekend James (Hobman) played the first game of his new season (in Hong Kong), taking 1 for 26 for his new club, Craigengower Cricket Club (worth clicking for the photos of the club). The match was won by 100 runs against the United Services Recreation Club Cricket Club. Team photo here.
