Quiz Night- Sat 10th January
The tennis section is hosting it's ever popular general knowledge quiz this Saturday, the 10th January. All Sports Club members are welcome with friends, register your team by 7pm at the latest with the first question at 7.30pm. Further details here.
Dumfries MCCF Girls Cricket Hub starts 22 January
A local opportunity for free-to-access girls cricket (for ages 11-17) starts on Thursday evenings, from 22 January, for 10 weeks, at St Jo's and is delivered by Cricket Scotland. "Looking to try girls cricket for the first time. Then sign-up for free today". The details can be found here.
Our Indoor Junior Sessions restart from 26 January
Our Club Indoor sessions resume at St Joseph's College on Mondays and Wednesdays, 5-6pm, starting on Monday, the 26th January, with the Stars age group (5 to 8) -
Congratulations to Aussie Mick
Many congratulations to Mick McEntyre of Wests CC in New South Wales who has "been nominated by Wests for a Cricket NSW Distinguished Service Award which sees him and wife Jenny being wined and dined in the Trumper Stand at the Sydney Cricket Ground" during the Ashes Test.
Mick is an Honorary Vice-President of Dumfries CC in recognition of him being the first Aussie here at Nunholm for a season when here as an exchange teacher at the High School in 1986.

Free Teacher Cricket CPD - 10th Feb
There is a free Teacher Cricket CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Course planned in Dumfries in February (after-school on Tuesday 10th) and delivered by Cricket Scotland. Further details, plus how to book a place, are here.
Cricket Coaching Courses
A set of ICC Level 1 and Level 2 cricket courses for the New Year have been highlighted by Cricket Scotland. Full details can be found here with the nearest Level 1 course taking place in Saltcoats, Ayrshire (Sun 15&22 February) and Level 2 in Edinburgh in April.

In Memory of Mac
The cricket club are very sad to hear of the passing of Mac Creedon recently. The funeral is to held on Friday 23rd, 11am, at Crichton Memorial.
Running the Club
The first cricket meeting for 2026 for the new cricket committee is on Tueaday evening, the 13th January.
