Coming up for all from our Stars juniors to the Sunday team stalwarts. Our 2026 Club Awards are taking place on the afternoon of Saturday the 5 September.
1:30-3.30pm - Mixed Junior Game
2:30-3:30pm - Stars Fun and Games
3.30-4.30pm - Junior Awards
4.30-6pm - Senior Awards
7:00pm - Sports Club 50th Anniversary Bash

Senior Games
The 1s lost at leaders Kilmarnock by six wickets after a bit of a batting collapse despite Chris prospering with the match top score of 66. The 2s won at home against Mearns 2 by 89 runs with Drew (74no) and Wahid (59) helping to set a total of 227 for 9. The weekend report can be found here plus photos here. This Saturday sees the final fixtures of the Western District leagues. In Western Premiership Two, the Dumfries first team, third placed Vigilant Dumfries, play their final game at home against Hillhead who sit in seventh spot. In Western Championship Two, Dumfries 2nd XI, Nunholm, also play Hillhead, away against their 2nd team who are in eighth place, with the Nunholm side sitting in second spot in the league.

Summer Junior Sessions
Our Monday junior evening sessions come to an end for the summer on Monday the 7th September, having started outside back on the 30th March, before the sessions resume indoors with those indoor details yet to be finalised.
We had a good attendance of Stars and Blasters on a sunny Monday this week and don’t forget the extra Stars session and junior game before our Club Awards on Saturday afternoon on the 5th September.
Stars Sessions - (ages 5-8) Mondays 6-7pm
Blasters [U11s] Sessions - (ages 9-11) Mondays 6-7:15pm.
Chargers [U16/U15s/U14s/U13s] Sessions - (ages 12-16) Wednesdays 6-7:15pm
Pathway Cricket
31st August Deadline for Cricket Scotland Regional Trials
The process to apply for Cricket Scotland Regional age-group squads is now open, for West U15 and U17 Boys, and Regional U16 and U18 Girls. Details are HERE. The deadline is 5pm on the 31st August, 2026.
We have sought clarification on the process from Cricket Scotland and
"To confirm, players involved in regional squads in this most recent season (2026 summer) do not need to resubmit video footage or an application.
Players who were not involved in a regional squad this previous season (even if involved in 2025 summer) will need to submit an application and video footage via WhatsApp. "
Scotland U17 Boys
Munro played for the Scotland U17s in a quarter-final of the T20 County Cup on Sunday where the side lost out at Staffordshire in a high scoring game.
Women’s Regional Super Series
The Women’s Regional Super Series has continued this week with two 50 overs games, Orla made another cricket appearance in one and well done to Niamh who performed well in both with runs and wickets.
